AR500 ICW - IFAK Insert Pouch

Give your armor carrier an extra compartment: The ICW / IFAK Insert Pouch is a general-purpose pouch for inside your Testudo, Testudo Lite, Veritas, and Veritas Lite plate carrier. ICW stands for "In conjunction with" and allows you to use multiple armor types to balance the best protection and weight. This insert can house a single 8" x 10" armor plate, a single 6” x 8”, or a single 6"x6" rifle side-plate in combination with full-size soft armor behind it, such as our S2 10" x 12" or 11" x 14" panels. Likewise, this pouch can also house items like additional medical supplies inside the plate pocket, discreetly freeing up external carrier real estate.

The ICW - IFAK Insert Pouch increases versatility of your plate pocket by allowing you to create an “In-Conjunction With” (ICW) armor system, -or- just reduce the protective footprint of our Testudo, Testudo Lite, Veritas, or Veritas lite plate carrier systems for smaller stature operators.

Why go with an ICW set up? Since Handguns make up 90% of attacks, an ICW setup will allow you to use lightweight soft armor over a majority of your torso (like a 10” x 12” or 11” x 14” sized protective panel), while in conjunction, also using a smaller and lighter weight 8” x 10”, 6" x 8", or 6" x 6" sized rifle plate concentrically over the soft armor, reinforcing vital support. 

This setup will reduce overall weight when compared to using full size 10” x 12” or 11” x 14” plates alone, while maintaining enhanced protection over using pistol-rated soft armor individually. 

A secondary usage for this pouch is as an inside plate pocket IFAK or individual first aid kit. The insert will fit larger flat items like chest seals and gauze which can free up external MOLLE space. Likewise, this pouch can be used to discreetly stow documents like maps that need to remain hidden from an external gear search.
