The best of contemporary UK jazz musicians have come together to vividly reimagine Blue Note's masterpieces. A new future of jazz is here. Decca Records (U.K.) and legendary jazz label Blue Note have teamed up to present a collection of new covers of Blue Note classics by some of the most talented musicians on the contemporary U.K. jazz scene. The album features Shabaka Hutchings, Ezra Collective, Nubaiya Garcia, Mr. Jukes, Steam Down, Skinny Pelembe, Emma-Jean Thackray, Poppy Ajudah, Jordan Rakai, Fia, Ishmael Ensemble, Blue Love Beats , Melt Yourself Down, Yasmin Lacey, Alpha Mist, and Brit Award winner and Grammy nominee Jorja Smith, among other up-and-coming artists from the global jazz, soul, and R&B scenes. Blue Note is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2019 and is once again shining a light on its catalog of jazz history, and the "Reimagined" project features music by a number of legendary musicians.The Ezra Collective features Wayne Shorter's "Footprints" and new interpretations of songs by Herbie Hancock, Bobby Hutcherson, Joe Henderson, Donald Byrd, Eddie Henderson, McCoy Tyner, Andrew Hill, and others. Blue Note Reimagined continues that tradition by looking at the label's legacy through the lens of some of UK jazz's finest young artists.
