Plantagenet planted the first vines at Bouverie in 1968, establishing the foundation for what became Mount Barker's identity as a serious cool-climate Shiraz region. The 1993 vintage scored 93 points from James Suckling, who described it as wondrously powerful and exotic. Now in its fourth decade, the wine sits in full tertiary development: dried herbs, earth, preserved dark fruit and warm spice, with a palate that has lost nothing of its underlying authority. A rare piece of Great Southern history in the glass.
