Ideally located between Marseille and Toulon, between maritime proximity and the Var hinterland, the Destel, this little known, passes here for a "Petit Verdon". Admittedly, it does not have the depth, nor the scale, but its preserved, wild and somewhat atypical setting for the region has something to seduce, even fascinate. It benefits from the Toulon climate with its mild winters and national sunshine record. The multiple faces of its many sectors occupy all of the possible exposures and thus make it possible to play according to the seasons with the sun or with the shade. Climbing is possible there all year round, even on Mistral days from which it is rather well sheltered. The climbing is incredibly varied: on steep slab walls or cracks from 4c to 7c, or in its many slopes and caves, of which the Destel has the secret and which allow ultra-sporty climbing up to 8b. The choice of routes is just as complete since it ranges from 20m rinds to 200m long routes!

The hikes are numerous and fun, easily combinable according to our desires and our possibilities. The exploration of the many caves, often inhabited since the Neolithic era, sometimes decorated, adds even more historical appeal to this unique and fascinating place. The medieval village of Evenos which dominates the ravine and whose history is intimately linked to that of Destel is in itself a goal of visit. Finally, two canyons, fun and easy to access, complete the range of activities.
