An oversized and engulfing open front cape made from pure yak down. With an elongated back, it can be worn like a blanket, with its generous draping wrapped around or slung over the body. A favorite among Ritoma’s local nomads, who wear these scarves year-round. Khullu is the ultra-fine, downy undercoat that keeps the yak insulated during harsh Tibetan winters. Each summer, the yak naturally shed this down, which is then carefully collected by hand.
Handwoven at the Norlha Atelier in Ritoma Village, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, China. Yak khullu sourced from local nomad cooperatives.
