This is the first collection of sound sources released on the 100th (as of 2014) birthday of the giant of Japanese composition, Akira Ifukube, including the 302nd subscription concert of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in January 1990 (conducted by Hiroyuki Iwaki) and the revised "Concerto-style Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra" from November 1959, performed solo by Takeshi Kobayashi (vn) and the ABC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ifukube, along with a conversation between Ifukube and the announcer from the same radio source. (vn), conducted by Ifukube and performed by the ABC Symphony Orchestra, with a dialogue between Ifukube and the announcer from the same radio recording. This is a CD version of the famous performance that has been passed down through the generations among fans. (C)RS
