This is a very rare private release (original release: 1971/Private Label) by James McCarthy, an SSW who reminds one of Nick Drake. The label is Audio House, based in Lawrence, Kansas, USA. This "Born a Loser" was released in 1971 as James McCassey's only album (original LP on clear blue vinyl). The atmosphere of the jacket, which seems unlikely to sell, is overlaid with the artist's own feeling that he does not expect it to sell from the start. However, it is also the solitary world of "SSW" that makes it possible. Unlike the songs of Tom Waits in his early days, for example, which were filled with a strong sense of loneliness, McCarthy's songs have the feel of a small club with no one in the audience, where he sings and plays by himself.The song "The Born Loser Must Wander as Long as Life Lasts" [1] and every other song on the album conveys the image of the character on the front cover of Nick Drake's classic first album "Five Leaves Left," as if he were looking out the window of his room alone. The image is reminiscent of the character on the front cover of Nick Drake's classic first album, "Five Leaves Left". Furthermore, in the Drake connection, even if the coincidence of the song titles [9] and "Poor Boy" (from "Blighter Lighter") is coincidental, the song [10], which sings, "O sun, bring out the clouds that bring rain and make the sunny sky disappear," is a reference to the last song on "Fab Leaves Left," "Saturday Sun" (from "Fab Leaves Left"). It seems to be a response to "Saturday Sun". All of this, along with his own career, is shrouded in mystery.
