The innovative and kitschy production is the talk of the town! The Ring of the Nibelung, a musical drama from the "Land of Song," Bulgaria] Bulgaria is a country of song, known for producing many famous singers, including Boris Kristof and Vesselina Katsarova. This is a recording of a performance of Wagner's "Ring of the Nibelung" that was staged in 2010 by the Sofia National Opera, the country's leading opera house. For the performance, Bulgaria's most talented singers were assembled. The singers are dressed like characters from a special effects monster movie or rock singers. Conductor Pavel Balev was honored as Bulgaria's "Conductor of the Year" for his performance of "Gold of the Rhine. The stage set designed by Nikolai Panayotov features a giant disk symbolizing the Rhine River and a number of cones (triangular pyramids) hanging on the stage, on which projection mapping depicts the changing scenery. The projection mapping depicts changes in the scenery. Many of the characters appear comically dressed in kitschy costumes like characters from an animated film. In "Valkyrie," the production is surprisingly more populist than in "Rhinegold. The large rings and cones used as objects on stage are continued in this production, and are used in various scenes, including a cone that looks like the warhead of the rocket in which the Valkyries ride, and a ring of flames surrounding the rocky hill where Brünnhilde sleeps.Martin Iliev, who sings Siegmund, is a talented tenor who gained popularity when he sang Calaf in "Turandot" during the Sofia State Opera's Japan tour in 2015. In "Siegfried," the lighting is based on red and blue tones, interspersed with mysterious geometric patterns and cones that transport the viewer to another world. The tenor Martin Iliev will continue to play the title role, Martin Tsonev will play Siegfried and Wotan the Wanderer, and the Mongolian soprano Balasgaran Dashnyam will play Brünnhilde. The role of Brünnhilde is played by the Mongolian soprano Balasgaran Dashnyam, who sings beautifully. As in the previous three productions, "Götterdämmerung" was based on a pop concept by Plamen Kartakov, with lighting based on primary colors of red, blue, and green, and mysterious geometric patterns and cones scattered throughout the production. Except for Georgiev as Alberich and Petar Butikov as Hagen, the main members of the ensemble have been renewed, and fresh singers including Yordanka Delilova as Brünnhilde bring the final chapter of this magnificent cycle to a close with a passionate performance.
