  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC): ACC systems use the steering angle sensor to adjust the vehicle's speed and distance from the car ahead based on the curvature of the road.
    
  • Lane departure warning (LDW): LDW systems use the steering angle sensor to monitor the vehicle's position within its lane. If the vehicle starts to drift out of its lane, the system can provide a warning to the driver.
    
  • Electronic stability control (ESC): The ESC system uses the steering angle sensor to determine if the vehicle is oversteering or understeering. If the system detects a loss of control, it can apply the brakes individually to help the driver maintain stability.
