Lewis Cole is a Los Angeles-based drummer, singer/songwriter/producer, and DIY aesthete whose talents span a wide variety of fields. Cole has received acclaim from the likes of Letchli, Quincy Jones, Flying Lotus, and others, and he made a splash as the drummer for his ally Thundercat's 2022 tour of Japan. The album features a mix of musicians, including Genevieve Altadi, who writes, performs, and produces in her own home studio and also works with Nowhere; saxophonist Sam Gendel, a friend of 17 years; pianist Chris Fishman; Nate Wood from the five-piece jam band Kneebody, and Bakersfield music scene stalwart Marlon McKee, and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel are among the guests.The album features 20 tracks, including "I'm Tight," a Lewis Cole-style funk tune with a funky bass line and smooth, precise drumming, and "Let It Happen," which he describes as "a modern power ballad that transcends time. Lewis Cole, who has been described by Thundercat as "one of the greatest musicians in Los Angeles" and has garnered attention from all quarters, has produced an album that can be called his masterpiece.
