Join us in another exciting virtual whisky tasting. We are proud to present and introduce to you a relatively new independent bottler out of Taiwan, called Whisky Age Ltd. This is a brand that we ourselves are importing and distributing through Select Spirits. Whisky Age was started by a gentleman by the name of Rex Weng and his whisky loving friends in 2014. Initially the company started out by selling whisky gelato. They managed to create some hype with the gelato, but the business was not sustainable. Following that, in 2017, they decided to enter the whisky market more seriously and they started to distribute several European independent bottling brands in Taiwan, including Maltbarn, Le Gus't and more recently The Whisky Jury. In 2018 as well, they started bottling their own whiskies under The Whisky Blues label. 2020 was a big year for the company, as they invest heavily and more seriously into cask purchasing. They ended up buying 400 casks of whiskies and rums in one year !!! In 2021, they also started a new label, self-named The Whisky Age.
We will be tasting 4 bottlings (2 whiskies and 2 rums) from "The Whisky Blues" label and their very first 2 bottlings from "The Whisky Age" label. The highlight of this tasting will be the 25yo Secret Highland that is waxy and fruity and also a 29yo Jamaican rum from the Hamp**n Distillery! So don't miss out and grab your tasting pack now!
