Description:
The 40th anniversary 3-CD set includes liner notes written by Steve Harris, in which he comments on "Total Eclipse": "This is the first time I've been able to put 'Total Eclipse' in its rightful place on an album. With this analog release, we were able to put 'Total Eclipse' in its rightful place on the album for the first time. The reason why we couldn't put it on the album from the beginning is that at the time we had to finish the album and release the single "Run To The Hills" before going on tour, and we had to choose between "Gangland" and "Total Eclipse" as to which song to put on the B-side. We had to choose between "Gangland" and "Total Eclipse" for the B-side. We had to choose between "Gangland" and "Total Eclipse".I think "Total Eclipse" is a very strong song, and the album itself would have been stronger if it had been on it. BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH, which will appear on vinyl for the first time alongside this classic album, is a live recording of the now legendary Hammersmith Odeon London show from the Beast On The Road world tour that took place in March 1982. The show, which took place just days before the release of the album "THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST," is a truly historic one, as the band performed many of the now classic songs from the album before the album was released. Originally included on CD in the box set "Eddie's Archive," which was released in 2002 on a limited basis, this is the first time that this work has been released on analog vinyl. The artwork is a restored and expanded version of the CD artwork that was included in the box. (2/2)
