The MTP®/MPO Polarity Tester is an essential tool for engineers and technicians to verify the integrity of MTP®/MPO fiber optic cables and determine the A/B/C polarity of their connectors. It supports both single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) cables, and is compatible with MTP/MPO input/output ports equipped with either physical contact (PC) or angled physical contact (APC) connectors.

By emitting a 650 nm visible red laser through the fiber optic cable, the tester can detect breaks and defects along the channel. When a break is present, the refracted light produces a bright glow at the fault location, while the display indicates the issue with the pattern “--”. In addition, the tester is equipped with 12 LEDs that clearly display the status of each 12F or 8F channel, making troubleshooting faster and more reliable.

The laser diode provides three output modes:

• Scan Mode – for testing MTP/MPO array and fan-out cables.

• Continuous Wave (CW) Mode – for continuous fan-out cable testing.

• Pulse Mode – for fan-out cable testing with pulsed light emissions.
