'Prairiefire' dogwood is the very definition of a four season interest plant. The reason most people are going to put this one in their garden is the bright red or orange stems.  Those stems form an incredible contrast to the chartreuse leaves that cover this plant in the spring and summer. Then the autumn leaves turn orange to red. We like to to give these guys a little protection from the mid-day sun, especially if their not getting regular water. That said, this plant is always surprising us with its resiliency. Tip: plant in a series of three in a part-sun corner.
