A John Bradford Legacy III bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip and built for a double taper #5 line. Serial #1740. Oven-temper cane in a left-hand spiral with mirror tips. Condition is modestly used with some hand soiling to the grip. The rod action is on the faster D.F. side. Excellent varnish with brown main wraps and yellow edges on all. The original owner's name is on the rod. Agate stripper and black snake guides. The step ferrules are oxidized jet black. The medium cigar grip is 6 1/4" long. The reel seat is Birdseye maple cap and ring. Both are oxidized jet black and the cap is stamped "J.A. Bradford, Maker". The ferrule fits are excellent and the rod is straight. The rod packs into a tan cloth bag and a black anodized aluminum rod tube with brass fixtures and Bradford's data sticker. John didn't make very many 3-piece rods and this is a nice rare example.
