A vintage light blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring. A round-cut light blue sapphire centres this ring, it is secured in a platinum rub-over setting with a weight of 1.70 carats, encircled by a cluster of fourteen round-cut diamonds that are claw-set and have a combined weight of 0.42 carats. Cornflower-blue tones are evenly dispersed throughout the sapphire and the gemstone is further flattered with cathedral shoulders, an intricately pierced gallery and an open back-holing. Tested 18ct yellow gold and platinum, circa 1940.
