"Seeking the Unseen" was inspired by a night hike in Haleakalā National Park in Hawaii - a moment that reminded me how wonder often hides within the unknown. As darkness surrounded us, we followed faint starlight and the sound of a rare Ua’u bird calling through the forest. That experience stayed with me - the mix of awe, mystery, and quiet courage. In this painting, the spoonbill becomes a symbol of that journey, standing beneath luminous mushrooms and a sky alive with stars. Through layers of indigo, magenta, and gold, I wanted to capture the feeling of venturing beyond fear and discovering light where we least expect it.
