A vintage sapphire and diamond cocktail ring. Set to centre with an impressive natural blue sapphire in an open-back claw setting with an approximate weight of 7 carats. The sapphire is encircled by a cluster of claw-set pear-cut diamonds, fourteen in total-amounting to a combined weight of 2.25 carats. The cluster of diamonds leads down to split shoulders that merge seamlessly with the structural basket-style gallery. This vintage ring tests as platinum and iridium, authenticated by its marks. Circa 1950.
