After much searching, Emilka Kono has found the perfect, sustainable dad hat from Topiku. When we say sustainable, we really mean it! Recycled plastic, leather, & cotton.

The Heart & Soul hat gets its name from the process in which it took to be a beautiful, red embroidered heart. From the hands that did the embroidery to the design process that created a modern heart with a Ukrainian twist, this hat is thoughtfully designed through and through.

The embroidery is salvaged from small (often stained) table linens. The embroidery is machine embroidered onto Piñatex leather (made from pineapples). Finally it is sewn by Dayna onto each hat.

Materials 

Brim/Visor: Recycled HDPE Plastic

• Working with local trash-pickers in Indonesia, the brim is salvaged HDPE plastic buckets and other plastics from landfills.
• Once the buckets are collected, they are shredded, washed, melted, and then remolded into brims.

Panels: Upcycled &  Organic Cotton Twill

• High quality and soft GOTS-certified organic cotton twill
• Upcycled from deadstock inventory of curtain manufacturer in Solo, Central Java

Button & Clasp: Recycled Metal

• Working with local trach-pickers in Indonesia, the button is recycled from aluminum cans and the clasp is made of recycled brass
