A simple 1 wire connection to a 12v switched source is required to turn the alternator on and off and function as a stand-alone unit. This alternator is the LARGE CASE version of our small case 240 offering. The Large case units are perfect for more open/larger alternator mounting locations and while making the same max output as the small case, they provide more output at vehicle idle speeds.

The Elite series offers the highest possible amperage and durability available in a large case alternator. 6 phase technology combined with massive twin rectifier assemblies and 12 diodes makes these alternators totally durable for daily use, while still maintaining 160+ amps at engine idle speeds. This unit comes with a standard diameter pulley, making it perfect for high RPM and racing use.

WHEN USING THIS IN TURBO APPLICATIONS, DUE TO THE ALTERNATORS LOCATION, PLEASE ENSURE THE ALTERNATOR HAS PROPER HEAT SHIELDING OR ROUTE PIPING AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID THERMAL FAILURE!!! This is for motor swap applications only as it does NOT reuse the factory Ford alternator plug/connection.
