Each of the stones have been carefully selected and cut by hand in Jaipur to invoke the look and feel of the Silk Road trade beads. There is an elegance and casualness to this piece and it is lovely worn layered with other necklaces or striking on it's own. 

The Silk Road trade beads were stone shards and blown glass gems recycled from ancient artifacts. These beads became highly prized currencies and coveted jewelry pieces that were traded across the Eurasian networks between second century BCE through the mid-15th century.
