A Belle Époque sapphire and diamond ring. Set horizontally with a 0.28 carat round-cut sapphire accompanied by two 0.15 carat round-cut diamonds in open back rub-over settings. The trio is encircled and flanked by thirty eight round cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.38 carats, the total approximate diamond weight is 0.68 carats. The irregular rectangular openwork setting features delicate millegrain edging as well as a finely scroll pierced gallery and shoulders. Tested 18ct yellow gold and platinum, circa 1900.
