Pittsburg Diamonds took the field in 1948 as part of California's Far West League. Class D ball brought minor league baseball to an industrial town along the Sacramento River delta. Small California cities lived and died by their local clubs, and Pittsburg's diamond gave working families something to believe in beyond the steel mills.
Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
Arched distressed white text reads "PITTSBURG" above a baseball diamond emblem with crossed bats and "ESTD 1948" at center. "FAR WEST," "CLASS D," and "LEAGUE" appear in smaller white text flanking the emblem, with bold white text reading "DIAMONDS" below. Cursive white script with a swoosh tail reads "Pittsburg, California" at the bottom.
