A documentary that centers on the eight bandsmen on the Titanic, who were not paid staff of the Whiter Star Line and had only come together from a 'pool'  for the Titanic's maiden voyage. It details their courage in staying to play music on deck to provide a sense of calm and dignity for passengers as the ship sank, a heroic act that helped keep panic from escalating. The story is driven by the music they played, with 18 new recordings of songs from the White Star Songbook performed in the original style and instrumentation of the era. The documentary weaves in expert commentary on the Titanic and the Edwardian era, along with archival photos and interviews, to provide a comprehensive look at the musicians and the tragedy. It also delves into the personal histories of the band members, giving a human dimension to their story and highlighting the sacrifice they made. FACT:  the band member's families received a bill after the tragedy for the loss of the band uniforms.
