I found this wonderful water color inside of the old tramp frame I just listed, with a backing page behind it dating it to 1840. I might guess the album, or notebook, it came from featured other watercolors of, and notes about, various species of wild life, as here the wood ducks are numbered 1, 2 and 3 at far right. Such a lot of personality these three beauties were imparted with, and I really love the inclusion of a  little habitat, including a few distant ships a'sail on the top horizon. Great.

5 3/4" x 3 7/8" and in very good condition, very bright and crisp.
