to kick off the new season, we’re going alllllll the way back to the basics with a night of introductory mahjong — in partnership with one of our city's most genuine, impactful AAPI organizations Welcome to Chinatown 📖🔎🀄️💚

when: tuesday, march 17 @ 7–10 pm

where: 115 Bowery St, New York, NY 10002

the night will begin with a dedicated 1.5 hour mahjong lesson taught in groups of six. your gtsc teacher will run you through the complete basics of Hong Kong mahjong — from terminology to tile recognition and core game constructs, before real-time instructing you through an open hand game.

then, stay to exercise your new playing chops until we get kicked out at 10 pm. snacks & drinks available for purchase 💫

this event is a fundraiser benefitting Welcome to Chinatown. 30% all ticket sales are donated to their Small Business Innovation Hub, which provides programming, technical assistance, and pathways to long-term sustainability to small businesses just like gtsc 💚
