Bought for a project where I thought I needed a PTP network but turns out I only needed a wireless to ethernet bridge. This device can do both. So in my case I used it to take the existing wifi SSID outside of a metal shed, convert it to ethernet, then installed a seperate wireless access point inside theshed.
Originally I thought I needed to physically ethernet to my switch, then PTP, then ethernet at the shed end. I only note this to hopefully help you with your particular project!
It has been opened, plugged in and then put back in the box.
