"Oceanna" creates the dynamic illusion of a cresting wave. It was created by crystallizing tartaric acid on a glass microscope slide , then photographing them through a microscope. Tartaric acid occurs naturally in grapes and plays a critical role in the taste, feel and color of a wine. Tartaric acid often crystallizes on the bottle cork, yielding “wine diamonds.” The crystal facets create the colors naturally by refraction of the transmitted white light.
