Made between the late 1940s and early 1960s, she captures the playful elegance of the period’s festive display dolls — the sort once arranged in Christmas shop windows, winter tableaux, and Alpine-themed putz scenes.

Her delicately moulded early-plastic face retains its original painted features, framed by a softly curled fibre wig. She wears a beautifully pleated crepe-paper skirt and matching jacket, topped with a charming hat trimmed in vintage faux fur. Her boots are formed from textured crepe paper, and she carries her original wrapped ski pole, completing the scene with gentle theatricality.

She comes with oral provenance indicating that she once formed part of the Bletchley Museum collection, a delightful association that adds an extra layer of narrative interest (no written documentation accompanies this).

Showing only light wear to the fragile costume — entirely expected in a figure of this age — she displays beautifully and remains an enchanting example of mid-century festive craft.
