Circa 1900-1920 Silver mounted violin bow with a final balanced weight of 59.8 grams; undoubtedly German production, but stamped “DODD” to the player side of the handle. Wear to the handle and thumb projection of the frog but otherwise in good condition, straight throughout and demonstrating fantastic camber, with consistent flexibility through the generally stiffer stick. Exceptional pernambuco, even from this era.
I cannot enough commend the tonal and performance qualities of this bow, which delivers the feeling of playing itself through the gamut of articulations with modularity and finesse.
