Abstract Grid Twenty reminds me of a city grate. It is a ceramic wall art piece inspired by the simplicity of circles and lines. The uneven black and deep green surface provides a strong foreground for the contrast of the brass surface coming through to form the grid of twenty centered circles. The brass will age and darken over time going from gold to a slightly darker version of itself as it would if it lived on a city street. 

To elevate and display the work, each piece is mounted on brass and held with small hammered brass claws, reminiscent of jewelry.

These first editions mark the beginning of an ongoing series of tile paintings, where ceramic and drawing meet in sculptural relief. Each is one of its kind.
