A remarkable and original pair of Pierre Jeanneret “King Chairs”, designed for the Chandigarh Government complex in northern India during the early 1960s. Both pieces bear original stenciled inventory markings: P.G.I / CH / Block-D / 221 / II P.G.I / CH / Block-D / 050 / II indicating provenance from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh — one of the most important civic complexes designed under Jeanneret’s supervision.
