Kiffa Beads are made from sintered glass powder, classified as a type of recycled glass bead. These beads were discovered by ethnologist R. Mauny in 1949 near the city of Kiffa, Mauritania, which is how they got their name. The most famous Kiffa Beads are isosceles triangles with vertical stripes.
