Here is a Buffalo Soldier t-shirt inspired by the Bob Marley song of the same name. The term Buffalo Soldier refers to the 10th Cavalry Regiment of the US Army. The name was given to the Negro Cavalry by the Native American tribes they fought. The phrase 'buffalo soldier' eventually became synonymous with all of the African-American regiments formed towards the end of the nineteenth century. The term was also used long into the twentieth century to describe African-American members of the US army. Most of us however are familiar with the phrase thanks to the Bob Marley song 'Buffalo Soldier', released in 1983, or from the title of the 2001 film starring Joaquin Phoenix.
