Can I install this myself?

Yes. If your factory mounting points are accessible and undamaged, installation is straightforward with basic hand tools. Jacking the vehicle and removing the rear bumper cover will give you full access.

Does this need painting?

Guard arrives ready to install as-is. If you want it color-matched to your bumper, light sanding and your choice of primer and paint will prep it for finishing.
