Chevron beads, also known as Star Beads or Rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier in Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques often draw from ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian, with some beads featuring up to 10 layers. Blue is the most common color, while red, green, and black are rarer. The name "Chevron" refers to the distinctive zigzag pattern of the beads. This technique later spread to Holland.
