This elegant flowing caftan is a relative rarity in vintage, exactly dated, in this case to 1976! Banded neckline that becomes a placket with a faux slit. Deep slightly belled sleeves with a short slit at each wrist. The body of the caftan is fairly loose except for diagonal bust darts. 15" slits show off a modest flash of leg with movement. The neckline, placket, sleeve hams and slits are piped with parallel edging of turquoise and cream for a subtle pop. The garment is beautifull made, with lots of hand finishing.

FABRIC/COLORS: Primary color is a rich saturated shade of turquoise. The fabric is silky, lightweight and crisp, with a subtle sheen, and lightly slubbed. A fiber burn test identifies it as synthetic. The clever print uses a cream diamond pattern suggesting bamboo lattice. Smaller clusters of bamboo leaves in darker turquoise are scattered under the lattice. Fully lined in good quality white acetate, except for the bottom 7" of sleeve and the bottom 18" of skirt where matching turquoise fabric is used instead, for a brilliant flash of color through the slits.

CONDITION: This looks like it was worn very little if at all. I don't see any issues - no stains, holes, tears etc.
