Through her eyes, themes of longing and loss, hope and faith are explored, as well as what it truly means to follow ones heart.

From a small American town to the windswept western coast of Norway, we follow her struggle to find her place in the world. She carries with her a cup from the time and place she left behind, a simple keepsake that will later take on an unexpected meaning.

The story unfolds in the first half of the twentieth century, a true account of life on the western coast of Norway, framed by fiction.
