Cavasanti(Rec)Maletto / Cantica Symphonia Bach (1685-1750)
Description:
Italian period ensemble led by a master! A collection of Bach's recorder concertos! The Italian vocal and instrumental period ensemble Cantica Sinfonia, led by master musician Giuseppe Malletto, who has created numerous masterpieces, including the "Dufay Trilogy" and the masses by Buenoit and Isaac. Cantica Sinfonia, which also participated in La Compagnia del Madrigale's recording of Monteverdi's Evening Prayer of the Virgin Mary (OGCD922807), presents a new recording of a recorder concerto version of the great Bach masterpiece. Although Bach left no concertos for solo recorder, he made extensive use of the recorder in important works such as the Brandenburg Concerto and several cantatas. In this album, Lorenzo Cavasanti, who studied recorder and flute with such virtuosos as Case Bucke and Frans Bruchen, brings the charm of Bach's beloved instrument to life with his colorful tone.
