Hurst never offered a short shifter for the PT Cruiser. So, we took one of our Neon SRT-4 shifters and analyzed what would be necessary to install a SRT-4 Hurst shifter into a PT. It turns out that the SRT-4 Neon shifter was virtually identical to the PT shifter, except that the shifter stalk is much higher in the PT.

So, We studied the Hurst catalog of shift stalks, and found one that would work perfectly with the Hurst Neon SRT-4 shifter, and give the proper height for shifting in the taller seat PT Cruiser models. We then created this custom kit with the base Neon SRT-4 Hurst shifter kit, along with a longer Hurst polished rectangle shift stalk.

We have installed this kit in our own 2003 PT Cruiser GT and its working out great! Check out our installed photo! (Please note that this kit comes with a HURST white cue ball knob, with the proper gear shift pattern like the one in your PT non turbo. The photo of the kit installed on this page is our GT model which has a different shift pattern and shift knob.)
