Mikowai Jerenski was a musician active in 16th century Poland. An organist and composer of the Catholic Church, his detailed life is not known, although some say that he studied in Rome because of the splendor found in his works. This "Prayer of the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary" is the most important and most widespread series of prayers in the Catholic Church. It is a prayer for peace in the world through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, remembering the life of Jesus, and has inspired many great artists and has been handed down to the present day. The rosary was first recited in medieval Europe, and the formal method of prayer is said to have been established in the 16th century, either by St. Dominic or by Pope Pius V. Either way, the order is said to have been established by the Holy See in the 17th century. Either way, Jerenski follows this order and writes moving music according to the order of prayer. The founder of the ensemble "La Tempesta" and conductor Burzynski has deeply studied the musical style of this period and seeks to reproduce the sounds of the time, but with a richness of sound.
