Details: We just adore these Deco earrings!
Framed in warm 14k gold, long juicy citrine baguettes are spaced with little tiles of four matched seed pearls, such a sophisticated and feminine contrast . They are very light weight and easy for daily wear. The long ear wires counter balance the drops and add a linear element to the long clean line of golden stones.
Baguette cut stones, characterized by their elongated, rectangular, and step-cut style, rose to popularity during the 1920's and 1930's Deco Movement reflecting the clean linear architecture of the age. While created by Cartier in 1912, the cut has 16th-century roots as "hogback" stones or dos d'áne stones.
Measurements: The overall drop is just under 2" including ear wire.
Origin: c. 1920- 1930's. American.
