Chevron beads are a distinctive type of Venetian bead, invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While many Venetian bead techniques date back to ancient times, the Chevron technique is a unique Venetian innovation. These beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black variants are considered rare and highly prized. The name "Chevron" refers to their V-shaped pattern, and they are also known as Star Beads or Rosetta Beads. These beads were later also produced in the Netherlands.
